About our open position

A self-directed role in a general psychiatric team where you will meet patients across all diagnostic groups.

You will work with other team members on follow-ups and assessments from a nursing perspective and in connection with BAS investigations. You will also be responsible for conducting annual health conversations for the patients in your team. There is also the opportunity to focus on specific patient groups or treatment methods based on your experience and knowledge.

The work includes individual patient contacts where collaboration with relatives and other resource persons is involved. You will be responsible for a number of patients as a primary care contact and will also provide targeted interventions in other cases. We appreciate if you are interested or have experience in collaboration, teamwork, and planning your own work. We offer you an exciting and stimulating job in a pleasant environment with engaged colleagues. The clinic's staff has high competence and extensive experience. There are opportunities for further education/development for our employees. Regular supervision is offered as needed.

About us

The psychiatric clinic in Alingsås is part of adult psychiatry at Södra Älvsborgs Hospital. The clinic serves the catchment area of Alingsås and Lerum municipalities with approximately 90,000 inhabitants. The location of the clinic provides excellent communication opportunities. We have nurses, doctors, caregivers, psychologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, secretaries, and a unit manager working with us. The caregiver group currently consists of four caregivers who will now become five. Some have specializations and extensive experience in psychiatric care, while others are relatively new and work equally with all groups. Many at the clinic have worked here for many years, contributing to stability and security. The clinic is characterized by openness, commitment, and collegial care, with plenty of laughter included in the daily work.

Your profile

We are looking for you who are a trained nursing assistant with a focus on psychiatry or a caregiver. A B driver's license is required for the position. You need to enjoy working in a team and have a genuine interest in psychiatry. You are confident in your professional role and have experience meeting people with mental health issues. It is advantageous if you have experience working with patients diagnosed with bipolar disorder or psychosis. As a person, you are calm, curious, innovative, open to collaboration, and contribute to creating a good atmosphere and helping others. The ability to share and utilize your colleagues' skills is highly valued since our team is characterized by strong commitment. Personal suitability is of great importance.

Protected professional title

As of July 1, 2023, the title of nursing assistant has become a protected professional title. This means that you need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant, or alternatively, you must present a certificate of employment confirming that you hold a permanent position as a nursing assistant and are thus covered by the transitional regulations.

While waiting for proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare (or employment certificate), a temporary employment with the title care assistant will apply. The employment will transition to a permanent position with the title nursing assistant once proof (or employment certificate) of the protected professional title has been received.
